Puppy Contract
Every precaution has been taken to see your new puppy is healthy. Our puppies have received Strongid wormer at 2 weeks of age, Panacur at 4 weeks of age, and Strongid again at 6 weeks of age. They have received their first puppy shots at 61/2 weeks of age by our vet. Our vet has checked them for parasites and health. If any parasites are found we have notified the buyers and have given the puppies the treatment needed. We have given the owners the opportunity to wait until medication is complete or to take the puppy and continue with medication themselves. The new owners must take the puppy to the vet within 48 hours. If the vet feels the puppy has any health problems that may cause death or serious complications in the future than the new owners must notify within the 48 hour period. I will give a refund of the purchase price only. I will not pay for any vet costs. The vet should not give any medication or vaccinations to the puppy. Rest assured that I will take the puppy to my vet immediately and treatment will be given. I will not give a guarantee against parasites, coccidia, or hypoglycemia. Worms and coccidia are very common. I have given treatment for worms and if coccidia is found at the time of the fecal I will let the new owners know and begin treatment. The worms will require an additional worming and the coccidia requires Albond. Some puppies might have some minor diarrhea after they go to their new homes. This is common and should go away within a day. If it becomes at all severe or bloody then the puppy should be taken to the vet. I will not give a guarantee against Parvo or any other communicable disease after 1 week. Most of these diseases have at least a 2 week incubation period and if the puppy comes down with the disease after 1 week it is unlikely that the puppy received it before it went to its new home. After the 48 hour period, I will consider an all well from the vet and money will not be returned. If the new owner changes their minds about keeping the puppy, all money is forfeited. I will try to resell the puppy for the owner, however, I will charge $5 for all shots not yet given, $50 for feeding and care, and $75 for advertising. I will run a ad for the puppy for a period of 3 weeks after that they new owner must run all ads. The new owner has the option at anytime to give the puppy back, but all money is forfeited. We do not say our puppies are show quality, however some may be. If the new owner is not planning on showing or breeding their new puppy, we would suggest having the puppy spayed or neutered. Puppies that have been spayed or neutered will be happier and healthier in the long run. Also unwanted litters, runaway male, or an overly aggressive male will be prevented.
