About Us

4kids is owned by Robert and Amber Langdon.  We live in Oklahoma with our 4 kids Myranda, Brittani, Zack and Ali.  We started raising Boston Terriers when Robert and I were first married, and after we moved to Indiana in '98', we purchased a Shih tzu named Prissy.  We came back to Oklahoma and then purchased her mate Brady.  Shortly after we purchased Jazzy.  She had beed born and raised in a puppy mill and although the people who we got her from were good breeders she had been over bred.  She was pregnant when we got her and we allowed one final litter from her before she retired.  Prissy and Brady gave us six beautiful litters before, sadly, brady was killed.  We then decided to retire Prissy as well, and I got Cash my first Boxer.  Not long after we got Julz our first Cocker, shortly after that we got Tobi, Boxer, and Crazy, Cocker.  We also have Fat Boy our English Bulldog. Recently we purchased Simone, Cocker, and will be looking for another Boxer female soon.

We are a small breeder and perfer to only have two breeding females and our own stud.  We breed once and occassionally twice a year, and our females retire when they are between 6 and 8 years old.  We feel that limiting the number of litters our dogs have and spacing out the litters is important in having healthy mothers.  A healthy happy mother produces nice sized litters that are very healthy.  All our dogs our under a vets care and are fed Purina dog food.  Our mothers are given vitamins and fed Purina puppy food during their pregnancy and after.  Although we will soon be building nice kennel runs with individual breeding facilities, our dogs are all played with, house broken, and well loved.  We have keep small to insure this.  I am present at the birth of all my puppies, the mothers get very upset when I leave the room for just a minute or two, and my children and I play with them on a daily basis.

About Boxers & Why I Love Them

I love Boxers because they are an extremly affectionate and loyal dog.  They have endless energy, but also love to be cuddled and loved.  They get along well with most everybody and everything, but they can be very protective.  They come in many colors, from dark brindle to light fawn and sometimes white.  They can have their ears cropped or left natural, I like both but perfer natural.  They need to be well socialized and trained because of their high energy.  They are not good apartment dogs unles one has the time to give them several exercise sessions outside each day.  They are fine in a house and will be content to lay on the bed or couch, but they do need to be able to burn off their energy in a good sized yard.

About Cockers & Why I Love Them

I love Cockers because of their beauty and affectionate personalities.  They are very beautiful with a long show coat, but they are also beautiful with a shorter puppy cut.  They love people and are very happy dogs.  They will play ball and cuddle on your lap.  They have a lot of energy, but will do fine in an apartment with regular exercise.  They do require grooming, however.  A Cocker that is not groomed with be a hairy ball of mess in a few months.  I do my dogs hair myself, and it is pretty easy.  My Cockers are in a semi show cut most of the time and they do stay outside quite a bit.

About English Bulldogs & Why I Love Them

I love English Bulldogs because of their loyalty, affectionalte behavior and big rolly polly, playful personalities.  They love people and need to have constant human contact to be happy.  They want to with with their owners whenever possible.  They are very protective of their families, but they are extremly gentle even with very young children.  They can have problems breathing, have allergies, skin problems, and hip problems.  They should never be allowed to become overweight.  Some cannont tollerate extremes in temps.  Althought, Fat boy is fine in all weather and enjoys being outside whenever possible, but he also has no breathing or other health problems.  They make fine apartment dogs, because most need very little exercise, but they should have some to keep a healthy weight.  They are extremly hard to breed, however, and almost all require artificial insemination and a c-section to deliver.  This is not a breed that you will get rich breeding, even with their high price tags.  Their price is high because of what is involved in keeping healthy parents, getting a pregnant mom, and having live healthy puppies.  In fact, one doesn't get rich off breeding any breed, if they are reputable breeders.  We do it because we love the dogs and we want others to have healthy dogs that they can love.
